Famous Artists for Kids - Andy Warhol



Andy Warhol was a famous pop artist.  He was born in 1928 and died in 1987 after surgery complications.  He's best known for his Marilyn Monroe silkscreens and his soup can paintings.  His work was designed to be affordable by normal people.  He also opened a studio called The Factory where he worked with many people to create artwork.  For more information about Andy Warhol, check out this biography.  Then, try these ideas -
  • Make your own Warhol style painting.
  • Pick a few everyday items from around your home and paint or draw them.

Cooking with Kids - Easy Farm Biscuits




Homemade biscuits are simple to make and make a delicious side for almost any meal.  They're also a great beginner recipe for children.  The recipe we've shared below requires only two ingredients and results in fluffy and delicious biscuits every time. 

Easy Farm Biscuits
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups of self rising flour
Directions:
  1. Pre heat your oven to 400*.
  2. Mix whipping cream and flour together with a fork.  Add additional flour if the dough is sticky.
  3. Roll dough out to about 1/3 of an inch on a floured surface.
  4. Use a glass or biscuit cutter to cut out your biscuits.
  5. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
